Like most good ideas, Freedom Slings was born out of necessity. My name is Margaret and following the birth of my 12th child, I desperately needed a baby carrier that would allow me to breast-feed my daughter Saoirse-Murron whilst meeting the demands of the other 11 children at home. To my dismay I could not find one on the general market that  met all our needs. I stumbled across Maya type wraps which have been used for centuries by indigenous peoples throughout the world. Using my own extensive experience I took this very basic concept and designed something that would give me exactly what Saoirse and I needed. A carrier that is comfortable, versatile and allows for completely hands-free breastfeeding on the move and so much more....

With the tweaking of that first sling Freedom Slings was born!

We quickly realized that having twelve children in our family gives us invaluable experience and appreciation of the fact that each baby and parent has different needs/wants, and so with that knowledge we have developed a range of baby slings and swaddlers which meet the needs and expectations of both the novice and experienced parent.
